Scholarships and Bursaries
St Andrew’s College is able to award several scholarships annually to pupils who have excelled in examinations which are written early in the year prior to coming to the school. Candidates must be under 14 on 30 June of the year in which they write. These scholarships range in value from a minimum value of 20% of the fees payable (in Closed Scholarships relating to particular prep schools) to 50% of fees payable in the case of the Major Open Scholarships. The financial position of the parents is not taken into account in the awarding of scholarships, but scholarships may be augmented by a bursary in certain cases. In the case of bursaries for boys who wish to attend St Andrew’s College, but for financial reasons are unable to do so, the Bursary Committee takes into consideration the boy’s potential to make a contribution to the life of College. Such contributions are usually of a leadership, sporting or cultural nature. The financial position of parents is a major factor in the awarding of bursaries, and these awards are made from March in the year prior to a pupil joining us. Further details and application forms are available from the School’s Liaison Office. |
